BLOG POST #3 PLN and Inclusion

• HOW DIVERSE IS YOUR EXISTING PLN?

My current existing PLN is not that much diverse. Most of my PLN is based on my courses, and team works. Social media is useful, though I am not using it as much as other people. I prefer a more realistic way of approach, a way of being myself, and real. One other reason I do not like use much of the social media is it leave too much trace of me. Maybe in the future I will get use to know more software or apps, but for now my PLN is not diverse.

• IN YOUR PLN, ARE YOU LEARNING FROM A VARIETY OF VOICE OR ARE YOU THE LOUDEST IN THE ROOM?

I believe I stand more on the learning part. I am a passive person which I do not like to share much, I rather listen more voices and learn from them.

• DO YOU PARTICIPATE IN A SILO OF INFORMATION SHARING?

I do sometimes. I mostly post my interests or daily highlights on WECHAT, which they are only available to my close friends. I also like to view what other people have shared, it gives me inspersion and may help me get to know them better.

• HOW CAN YOU USE A DIVERSE PLN TO BROADEN YOUR VIEWS OF INCLUSION?

With much more thing we have viewed online, our knowledge and vision become more diversification. When we have enough understanding of the online world, I believe broaden my views of inclusion will not be a hard thing to achieve.

• WHAT IS THE LEARNING OUTCOME OF YOUR PLN AND HOW ARE YOU ENSURING YOUR EXPORSURE TO DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION?

I believe the PLN platforms are providing me with knowledge and techniques of learning. With the platforms, I have the chance to collaborate with other people online, to get to know more ideas, to learning stuff that I am interest in, and to know more people to communicate, which will my exposure to diversity and inclusion. Though PLN, I have achieved and learned much more than I expected.

• HOW HAS YOUR THINKING ABOUT INCLUSION AND PLN EVOLVED AFTER REVIWING THE VIDEOS AND READINGS?

After the watching and reading, I realize inclusion is not just “acceptance”, it seems more than that. inclusion need people to know, to understand, and to recognize, before acceptance. We need to view this world with a reserved way, and to have patient for other people to express their ideas. Everyone is unique; therefore, every idea is unique. This is not a world about myself, nor yourself, but a world about us.
